Snow-Hydro was founded by Matthew Sturm and Jon Holmgren after they had been asked by colleagues to provide snow temperature probes and automatic tools for measuring snow depth. Between the two of them, they have almost 30 years of experience in snow research in Arctic and mountain settings. They apply their love of hand-crafting equipment, and their passion for snow and hydrologic research, in the production of Snow-Hydro products.
